A Gift in Your Will

Leaving a Gift in Your Will
Including a gift in your Will to Redcatch Community Garden is a wonderful way to support the Garden and help it thrive for future generations. After taking care of your loved ones, you may wish to consider leaving a gift that nurtures our shared space and the people who enjoy it.

Types of Gifts You Can Leave

Pecuniary Gifts: A fixed sum of money that you choose to leave. To maintain its value over time, you might consider linking the amount to inflation.

Residuary Gifts: This is a percentage of your estate, given after all other gifts and expenses are taken care of. A residuary gift ensures your loved ones are provided for while also supporting causes you care about.

We kindly ask that, if possible, you leave your gift unrestricted. This allows us to direct your generosity where it’s needed most, whether that’s maintaining the Garden, running community events or contributing to our countless groups.

Making or Updating Your Will
We recommend seeking professional advice from a solicitor when making or updating your Will.

Here are a few steps to help you prepare:

1. List Your Assets
Take stock of what you own, including shared assets and any outstanding debts. This will help determine what you can leave to loved ones and charitable causes.

2. Choose Executors
Executors are responsible for ensuring your wishes are carried out. They can be trusted family members, friends or professionals. If appointing loved ones, it’s a good idea to discuss this with them in advance.

3. Include a Gift to Redcatch Community Garden
If you’d like to support RCG in your Will, you will need our details:

Redcatch Community Garden
Redcatch Park
Knowle
Bristol
BS4 2RD

Registered Charity Number: RS007633

4. Ensure Your Will is Valid
When signing your Will, you’ll need two independent witnesses who are not beneficiaries. This helps ensure your gift remains legally valid.

By leaving a gift to Recatch Community Garden, you’re planting the seeds for a greener, more connected future. We can't thank you enough for considering this lasting legacy!
