We had the absolute pleasure of hosting some wonderful students from Hillcrest School for a special cookery session last week! There was so much excitement in the air as these budding young chefs rolled up their sleeves to create their very own pizzas and colourful fruit kebabs.
The children showed remarkable enthusiasm and creativity, carefully selecting ingredients and crafting their culinary masterpieces with pride. It was so lovely to see their faces light up as they participated in hands-on food preparation and learned about making healthy, sustainable food choices.
Rave Reviews
The success of the day was evident in the glowing feedback we received. Their teacher shared:
"They loved today! Thank you so much for that opportunity. The children came back to school delighted with their pizza."

Part of a Bigger Picture
This cookery workshop was hosted as part of the Climate and Disability strand of the Community Climate Action Project. Coordinated by the Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership and funded by the National Lottery's Climate Action Fund, this initiative aims to make climate action inclusive and accessible to the whole community, with Disabled people in mind.
By introducing children to hands-on food preparation, we're helping them understand the connection between food choices, health and environmental impact in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
Looking Forward
We're excited to continue these educational sessions that combine fun with important lessons about sustainability. Stay tuned for more updates about our community projects that bring climate action to life for participants of all ages and abilities.
