University of Bristol and the Day Care Services Study

Updated: Feb 28

We are really pleased to be part of this lovely video showcasing activities for older people. The University of Bristol has been conducting research into what Day Care means and the impact community care can have on older residents.

We are a Community Anchor Organisation, part of the Integrated Care System, which is a partnership of organisations that come together to improve the lives of people who live and work in their area. Dr Jayne Bailey set up Tai Chi at Redcatch Community Garden as a result of community conversations we had to this end.

We heard from the community, through these conversations, that Tai Chi would support older people to reduce their risk of falls. As a result, we now run weekly sessions that are so popular that we have added a second session. Please see below for more details!

If you're interested in attending Tai Chi at RCG, come along! Every Friday, Jayne runs sessions aimed at over 55s and those less mobile from 3-3:45pm and then a secondary standing session for the more mobile from 4-4:45pm. Beginners always welcome!
